Join us in Nelson for two days of in-person learning and development, networking and connection. This year's Mid-Year Conference takes place in Nelson on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th May at Nelson Theatre Royal (Day 1), The Trafalgar Centre (Evening Networking Function) and the Nelson Centre for Musical Arts (Day 2).

Timing: Registration from 10.30am Wednesday 11th May ( Conference commencing 11am), ends 3.30pm on Thursday 12th (There will be transport to the airport after the conference closes in time to catch the 4.50pm flight to Auckland)

    gave the big brands who claimed they knew what people wanted the middle finger and proved them all wrong.

  • State of the Nation - Round the room gathering issues and celebrating successes, sharing the opportunities and the pain.

  • Knowledge Cafe

  • Panel session - Drug Management at venues large and small. Hosted by Mark Lyne, Health Promotion Agency.

  • Audience Development - How do we get attendees to come back to our venues?

  • Getting Back to Work Safely - In the new era how do we operate? Panel Session hosted by Adam Lynch, Reliance Risk

  • Staff Recruitment and Retention - at all levels we've lost key people. How do we get them back into the industry or look elsewhere?

  • Working with Councils - getting the best out of relationships with Local Government.

  • Closing Keynote - Rachel Boyack - MP for Nelson, former student activist, Rachel is on the Boards of Nelson Women’s and Children’s Refuge and the Nelson Environment Centre.  She is Chair of Labour’s Policy Council.  A trained singer, she has a Music Degree from the University of Auckland and was a member of the New Zealand Youth Choir.
