A purpose-built performing arts and convention centre with modern architecture. It is home to one of New Zealand’s largest tiered auditoriums, as well as a unique black box theatre, multiple function rooms and spaces, the vibrant The Terrace Café, and the funky pop-up Container in the Square Café. The Aotea Centre contains two purpose built performance spaces – the 2,139-seat Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre and the 186-seat Herald Theatre, and versatile convention spaces ideal for breakout rooms, meetings, and gala functions.
