Edgar Centre

The Edgar Centre is a multi purpose venue capable of hosting a large variety of events including sports events, concerts, dinners, exhibitions, conventions and conferences. It is regarded as the largest indoor recreation centre in the Southern Hemisphere, and is one of Dunedin's most utilised public facilities.

The Edgar Centre is one of the largest and most successful multi-use venues in Australasia. The More FM Arena has a floor area of 2400m2 (3 courts), and can seat 3000 people in tiered seating. The main sports hall is 14,400m2 (18 courts).

Initially designed as an indoor sporting arena, extensive improvments over recent years have resulted in us becoming a very popular choice for meetings, dinners, weddings, conferences, craft shows, trade shows, expos and concerts featuring international artists. From large scale events to small gatherings we have the space and experience to meet your needs.

As well as succesfully hosting local, regional and national events in a variety of sports, we cater for a number of social sports and recreational activities. Fom coaching children through to All Black training sessions, with our size we can usually accommodate everyone. Regular competitions are an important feature of our unique venue, which is highly regarded by the local community.
