The Waikato Regional theatre is designed primarily as a 1300 seat lyric theatre with two audience balconies and stalls seating. There is a flexible proscenium zone that will allow for the aperture to move depending on the nature of the performance on stage. For example
Large opening of 19m in width with height of 14m for Orchestras and prize giving.
Small opening of 12m and height of 9m for Ballet and Musical Theatre performances. With an opportunity to have other combinations as per the needs of the show.
