    Dunedin Venues Management Ltd (DVML) is home to the most sophisticated and versatile event facilities in southern New Zealand.  Its portfolio includes the world class Forsyth Barr Stadium and the majestic Dunedin Centre which is a multi-purpose entertainment, conference and events hub.  

    DVML has built its reputation on its ability to deliver world-class events and has proven itself time and time again as the go-to for premier events and entertainment in the lower South Island.  We have an exciting opportunity for someone with event delivery experience to join our dynamic team as an Events Co-ordinator, focused mostly on the delivery of Business Events.

    This role is at the centre of delivering exceptional events and will see the successful applicant fully immersed in a truly dynamic workplace.

    THE ROLE:

    Like many businesses in the events industry 2020 was a challenging year for DVML, but 2021 and beyond are shaping up to have a stellar and intensifying line-up of entertainment and corporate events across all our managed venues.  It is because of this that we are now looking to expand our event delivery teams.   

    Reporting through to the Events Manager at the Dunedin Centre, the Events Co-ordinator is responsible for: planning events; drawing on the expertise across the wider DVML team to lead and deliver exceptional event experiences; building and maintaining  positive relationships with stakeholders as well as with existing and potential clients; and completing day to day administration that goes along with event planning and delivery.

    This is a full-time fixed-term role for 12 months which requires lots of flexibility in your approach to working hours.  While some days and even weeks you’ll be rostered on 8:30am-5pm there are lots of other times you’ll need to be available to work on weekend days, start earlier and work into the evening to meet event and client requirements. 

     ABOUT YOU: 

    This role requires someone with awesome customer service, organisational and time management skills, who is also innovative, creative and passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences.  Along with this you’ll:

    • Have some experience in the Event Management industry, at least two years is preferable
    • Be an expert planner, highly organised and with strong attention to detail
    • Have exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Be unflappable, you’ll be calm, able to cope with competing demands and deliver to a high standard even when under pressure
    • Be computer and systems savvy; you’ll be comfortable using Microsoft excel, outlook and word
