    McLean Park is Hawkes Bays' premium outdoor sporting stadium playing home to the Central District Stags and the Hawkes Bay Magpies. The Park regularly holds international fixtures which include the Black Caps, White Ferns and Super Rugby. In November 2022 the Park will play host to Six60 in their first concert at the park.

    About the role

    Napier City Council is looking for a Venue Event Coordinator superstar to assist with the coordination and integration of activity and delivery of event planning for McLean Park and Centennial Events Centre.

    What the role includes:

    • Efficient and planned delivery of event services including the implementation of event management plans
    • High responsive and consistent approach to the delivery of services for unplanned and emergency obligations
    • Identify client's needs and how they will be best accommodated and importantly how they interact with other functions at the same time, and before or after the event
    • Liaise and co-ordinate with clients during all facets of the planning and organising of events in order to fully understand and implement their requirements (including venue set-ups, technical, catering, ticketing, security, and equipment requirements) to their satisfaction.
    • Manage corporate box requirements per game/booking with service providers to deliver a VIP experience to owners
    • Maximize revenue opportunities for McLean Park by selling and promoting the event spaces to current and potential clients for conferences, meetings and corporate/private functions.

    About you:

    • Hold a Sport/Event Management Diploma/Degree or similar qualification
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Proven experience in the conference and event industry
    • Ability to work a roster, any one of seven days between the hours of 6 am and midnight, sometimes before or after these times depending on the event
    • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
