    Buller District Council and NBS Theatre Westport are currently seeking a Theatre Technician and Customer Service Assistant (Cinema) to provide a high level of customer service to our community, assist with our social media presence and have a creative flair. With great flexibility, the successful candidate’s days and hours of work will be negotiated but will include the ability to work a variety of rostered shifts between the hours of 9am – 10.30pm over a 7 day period, depending on events and venue hires.

    What will you do?

    You will do a variety of tasks including front of house operations for cinema, back of house for live events, administration, customer service with a focus on lighting and sound for shows, performances, meetings and any event at the NBS Theatre

    Who are you?

    The ideal candidate will need to be confident with being the sole lighting and sound technician, and not be afraid of heights. Excellent social skills and both written and verbal communication are desirable.  You will love entertainment, have excellent time management skills, be confident in working alone, have a good awareness of health and safety… and of course cooking popcorn and making ice-creams. Experience working in the events industry or passion with lighting and sound and with Digital Cinema equipment is highly desirable but not essential.
