Technical Manager
Reporting to the Head of Events, the Technical Manager is a critical part of Spark Arena client event planning, delivery, and reporting function. This a senior role with responsibility for direct reports within the Operations department, focusing on the technical requirements of all events coming into the arena. The Technical Manager is responsible for the overall presentation of the venue with a strong emphasis on customer service and experience.

Key things you’ll be doing day to day:
Technical Services
Lead the Operations team, concentrating on customer service and staff and patron safety by:
- Being the main point of contact with hirers and their technical staff to facilitate events into the arena with a focus on rigging, staging, load in/out, FOH set up and main arena dressing.
- Manage all CAD drawings for the arena
- Plan the delivery of all events from an operational perspective with the Events team to ensure a seamless experience for hirers and the public.
- Assist the Head of Events with budgeting for the Operations department.
- Ensure that all Operations staff are trained in the operation of all equipment and ongoing assessment is in place
- Provide additional support to FOH management at events and act as IC as required
- Manage the arena’s inventory of all technical equipment, staging, furniture etc.
- Managing the rostering of all Operations staff
- Provide timely financial reporting to the Finance team for all event costs
Health and Safety
Ensure the safety of all customers, staff and contractors by:
- Playing a leading role in QPAM’s health and safety plans and documentation.
- Attending training sessions as required.
- Contributing to public safety issues, safe work practice of staff and contractors, and staff training relating of safety procedures.
- Assisting in the implementation and induction of any Risk Management Strategies within Spark Arena and surrounding precinct.
- Active member of Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
- Ensuring all users of Spark Arena adhere to health and safety regulations and compliance.
- Performing all duties required by a qualified safety warden
- Assist in ensuring the overall safety of all personnel at Spark Arena.
