    Communications / Marketing Coordinator

    • Enjoy an incredibly diverse role - you won't get bored!
    • 30 hours per week, manage your hours to suit you and get more time for what you love
    • Create meaningful connections with your community

We are the Wiri Business Association. Created in 2006 with the hope of reducing crime in the area, we now have grown into a role of supporting a flourishing Wiri economy. We do this in many ways, such as enhancing the environment, organising networking events for local businesses, assisting with security and more. Our community is at the heart of what we do.

If you're looking for a diverse, dynamic role, where one day (or hour) you could be writing engaging articles for our bi-monthly magazine, another you could be organising events.... look no further. We have the opportunity for you to join our team as our newest Communications / Marketing Coordinator!

This role is diverse with a capital D. From organising events, to coordinating our bi-monthly magazine, to overseeing all marketing activities. We are a small team which means you need to be agile and innovative and happy to lead the charge on tasks as and when required.

First and foremost you're a keen writer with the ability to hook people in and keep them reading, no matter the topic. You see yourself as a bit of a LinkedIn Guru and you love the idea of building a community for local businesses to connect. You are confident to build email marketing campaigns, make suggestions for improving engagement across social channels, and updating websites (Wordpress) when required. Then there are our events - we run monthly events for our members so you are capable to coordinate these for up to 100 people.

It's an office based role with some time out in the field when crafting storylines and conducting interviews for our magazine.

Some of the experience you will bring…

    • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe and Mailchimp
    • Understanding of social media and Google Analytics
    • Strong writing capability
    • Comfortable updating websites
    • Reporting on success of different ventures, whether that is the success of an event or campaign
    • Event management would be a definite advantage to ensure you can book venues, speakers and anything else needed to ensure all runs smoothly

Of course, you are organised, calm under pressure, able to be trusted by our team and members and passionate, with enthusiasm to burn!
