He kōrero mōu: The Opportunity
This role works across both our venues: Queen’s Wharf and the Viaduct Events Centre.
Reporting to the Team Leader Venue Operations, you will be responsible for contributing to continuous business improvement and ensuring compliance across all aspects of the Venue Operations Department.
This includes:
- Successful delivery of events at AEE waterfront venues in conjunction with internal and external suppliers and service delivery teams
- Maintain successful working relationships with all AEE Sales and Event Delivery teams and TAU Core Services teams
- Maintain successful working relationships with clients, suppliers and operational stakeholders
- Contribute to the achievement of business objectives.

He kōrero mōu: About you
Our ideal applicant comes equipped with around 2 years’ operational experience in a venue, event or similar hospitality or service-related environment.
Liaison with sales, event planning, client contact, banquet operations (or similar) and on-the-day delivery to the client is preferred.
To be successful in this role, these are the key attributes and traits we’re looking for in you:
- You will be highly organised, skilled at planning and prioritising tasks and manage your time to ensure efficiency and be a fantastic team player
- Personal resilience is a must – we work in a highly collaborative, creative industry with a huge number of stakeholders, coordination and organisation involved, so someone who can work well and maintain their composure in pressured situations will be ideally suited for this role.
- Your excellent interpersonal and relationship skills will ensure you are able to work effectively with both external and internal stakeholders, managing these crucial relationships to ensure overall success. You will be tech savvy - proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite applications such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc
- A strong continuous improvement mindset – someone who has an eye for detail, can look for efficiencies, then suggest and implement these to improve our business outcomes ongoingly
- A focus on health, safety and risk mitigation, particularly during the pack in / pack out process
- You must have a full and clean drivers license
