About the role
As a Venue Manager with WellingtonNZ, you will be responsible for driving venue setups and working alongside internal and external stakeholders to help deliver exceptional experiences to clients, customers and guests. Your voice and experience will contribute to our long-term operational planning of venue management.
Reporting to the Senior Venue Manager, you will work across our iconic Wellington venues and be involved in:
- All aspects of venue management (including people, equipment and presentation).
- Managing relationships with supply partners and contractors, Venues Wellington team members, customers and clients.
- Working with our team to ensure our venues are well cared for, and events are safely and successfully delivered.
- Logistical planning and operational set-up and delivery of events.
This is a part-time role of 64 hours per fortnight. Additional hours and shifts may be available in peak periods.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven venue management experience and is passionate about delivering a great event experience for clients and guests.
- Brings a high level of organisation and planning but still thinks outside the box. As situations change, we need you to be calm and solutions-focussed, quickly adapting when needed.
- Builds strong relationships and seeks out opportunities to collaborate to meet the needs of customers.
- Can comfortably communicate with a wide range of people; you know how to adjust your communication style and delivery to suit your audience.
- Is able to step back, see what is missing, where a nuance has been overlooked, or the potential for something new.
- Is comfortable using a computer for communications, reporting and H&S management.
- Can be flexible and adaptable with working hours. Given the nature of the work, this role involves variable shifts with early starts, evening and/or weekend work while events are running.
