    About the role
    The Eden Park Trust is seeking an experienced and driven Event Manager to join our high performing Operations team. In this pivotal full-time role, you will lead the planning and delivery of a diverse range of events, from high-profile sporting fixtures such as Super Rugby and international cricket, to major concerts and vibrant community events.

    You will work closely with the Senior Event Manager to support strategic event planning and execution, while also providing day-to-day guidance and oversight to the Event Coordinator. You’ll be responsible for overseeing event delivery from initial conception through to debrief, working closely with clients, contractors, internal departments and key stakeholders to ensure every event runs safely, smoothly and to the highest possible standard.

    What you'll do

    • Manage the end-to-end delivery of events at Eden Park, ensuring operational excellence and outstanding customer experience.
    • Work closely with the Senior Event Manager to support strategic event planning and execution, and provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to the Event Coordinator
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned event clients, manage client expectations, provide regular updates, guidance and solutions, ensuring their needs and expectations are met within the operational capabilities of the stadium.
    • Coordinate and facilitate site visits, client meetings, event planning meetings and debriefs to finalise event details.
    • Develop and maintain event schedules, timelines and comprehensive operational plans.
    • Prepare, monitor and manage event specific budgets in line with agreed financial parameters and support post-event financial processes
    • Act as Event or Incident Controller for major events, ensuring compliance with venue protocols, safety procedures, and crowd management strategies.
    • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal teams, commercial partners, external vendors, and emergency services.
    • Maintain exceptional customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
    • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and event regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
    • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and provide effective solutions in fast-paced environment
    • Contribute positively to a collaborative culture, supporting teamwork and mutual respect.

     

    What we're looking for

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in event management
    • Tertiary qualification in Event /Business Management or relevant field
    • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple large-scale events and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, emergency response protocols, and event risk management frameworks.
    • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to think strategically and act decisively under pressure.
    • Demonstrated passion for world-class event delivery, coupled with a strong customer service ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
    • High degree of professionalism, flexibility, and resilience, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
