Off the back of a nationwide fee-relief program, APRA has extended Event Promoters a 10% discount on their music licence fees over summer 2020-21.
Event Promoters running Promoted Music Events need to submit their reports within 14 days of the event and settle their licence fees by the due date and their promoted music event, if held between 1 December 2020 and 31 March 2021, will qualify for the discount.
Greer Davies, Director of OneMusic NZ said
"Live music - the lifeblood of our industry - has been decimated. We want to help to get events back at a time when New Zealanders are on the move and hanging out for a live music event to make their summer break memorable.
By asking event promoters to submit their set lists and pay on time, we can help royalties flow to music creators quicker than ever in this difficult time."
Event Promoters do not need to apply for this discount. If their promoted music event qualifies and they pay on time, APRA will automatically apply the 10% discount.
The discount will apply to all these promoters who license any promoted music event with APRA and that event is held 1 December 2020 - 31 March 2021. This includes those customers that have already submitted an application to us.
