Built-in 1919, the stunning Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui is one of New Zealand's oldest purpose-built galleries. Now temporarily housed at Sarjeant on the Quay - 38 Taupo Quay, the Sarjeant is home to one of this country's most significant art collections and is unrivalled in the region.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about events and art. Working with our Relationships Officer, you will be responsible for providing hosting and event coordination and marketing support for the Sarjeant Gallery, its public programmes and private events at the Gallery, its annexes or off-site. As we transition from closing our current site this June to planning our reopening programme in 2024, a range of onsite functions, outreach events and stakeholder activities will be key to our operations over this period. If you are a natural social planner and a logistical whiz that thrives on variety and enjoys a challenge, we would love to hear from you.
The Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua, as a part of the Whanganui District Council, strives towards the Council's vision to be: deeply united, globally-connected, powered by creative smarts, flowing with richness, and working for everyone
